OCTOBER 27TH & 28TH 2018
WOOLTON HALL HALLOWEEN SPECIAL
27TH & 28TH OF OCTOBER
Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn and caldron bubble.
Fillet of a fenny snake,
In the caldron boil and bake;
Eye of newt and toe of frog,
Wool of bat and tongue of dog,
Adder's fork and blind-worm's sting,
Lizard's leg and howlet's wing,
For a charm of powerful trouble,
Like a hell-broth boil and bubble.
Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn and caldron bubble.
Cool it with a baboon's blood,
Then the charm is firm and good.
Song of the Witches: “Double, double toil and trouble”
By William Shakespeare (from Macbeth)
Woolton Hall is made for the Halloween Special, its perfect. With its creeky floor boards and cracked walls, with its dark basement and dusty chandalers, you can feel the history in every room. As you walk into the main rooms, the paintings of the old owners stare down at you, and act as a reminder to tread carefully and look after the old house.
