LIBRE STUDIO

NETWORK EVENT

INFORMATION

LIBRE STUDIO CREATIVE NETWORK EVENT

BACKGROUND:

This event has been setup as a way of bringing photographers and models together, to meet and work with each other.

The base for the event is Libre Studio, a photography studio in Liverpool city centre, that has a fantastic range of props, backdrops, lighting etc.. all available to use to make it a really creative photoshoot.

During the day you will do a mixture of photoshoots in the studio, as well as photoshoots at different good locations close to the studio too.

The event is aimed at people of all levels of experience, and we are keen to give everyone a fair equal opportunity of being involved.

Its a wonderful way of meeting and working with new people, and creating some exciting images for everyone to use in their portfolio's.

DETAILS:

The day starts at 9am and goes on until 4pm.

We provide a hot and cold buffett, throughout the day, and as many teas and coffee's as you need throughout as well, but its always a good idea to bring some of your own food with you to.

AVAILABLE PLACES -

Its important to repeat that places for the event become available in this way:

For every 3 models that book and pay, 2 photographer spaces will become available.

Capacity for each day is 8 models, 5 photographers, and places are booked on a first come first serve basis.

- places are only confirmed and secured by payment.

THE WAY THE DAY WORKS:

PHOTOGRAPHERS:

Everyone will arrive at 9am, and then while the models are getting ready there will be time for you to have a look at the studio, studio lighting, props, backdrops etc.. and go outside to scout for good locations near to the studio as well.

Then when the models are ready, I will allocate different models to different photographers, and this will be clearly displayed on a board so you know who you are working with.

I will then introduce you to your first model, and this is a good opportunity to discuss creative ideas for your shoot, and the model can show you clothing ideas as well.

Then when you start working the shoot time is 45 minutes, and once you are finished, if you just come back and see me, and I will decide who you will be working with next. We will continue like this for the day, and you will get the chance to work with 5 - 6 models.

TFP / EXCHANGING IMAGES :

When you are working individually with each model, the 45-minute shoots between photographer and model are run on a TFP basis, so on the day please discuss with each model about your post processing method, (the way in which the images will be exchanged, length of time they will take, amount of pictures you usually send etc..)

The models do also pay to attend the event, so :

** SENDING IMAGES TO THE MODELS IS A REQUIRMENT OF ATTENDING **

As an example - on average   5 - 15 images   to each model, is what most photographers would usually send out.

So, you will need to make sure to definitely send pictures in line with these numbers.

Or if your normal TFP workflow takes you above these average numbers, then please always continue with that workflow.

As always with TFP shoots -   having good communication with the models is key to this exchange process, and it is important to work well with them, so both you and the model are coming away with good usable pictures.

EQUIPTMENT / WHAT TO BRING :

When you are working in the studio its absolutely fine to use the lighting I have here, I have the triggers and everything you will need to make them work with your camera, so that it absolutely fine.

However, if you do have a speedlight, or battery powered flash light that you use, and modifiers, triggers etc for that light, it would definitely be good to bring that with you as well.

That way you when you are working on location you will have options for adding more light, creating different effects etc.
And you will also have the option to use it alongside my lights in the studio as well if needed.

I will always be on hand to help you get setup in the studio, to show you the lights and triggers etc.., and you can easily ask me any questions at any point during the day as well.

MODELS:

This is just a bit more information about what to bring and how everything works:

OUTFITS:

You need to bring your own with you, we like to leave it up to you, we encourage everyone to bring as much as they can, anything you would like to shoot in to add to your portfolio and anything that will work at both outside loctaions as well as in the studio.

This is a really good opportunity to be as creative as you like with outfits, and just have fun with the looks that you do.

We do also have a good selection of outfits already at the studio, in various different sizes and styles, and you are very welcome to have a look through those on the day and use anything that is suitable, so this can always be another option too.

This is a link to some pictures of some of the outfits that are available:

MAKE UP :

For this event we just ask that do your own hair & makeup.
So, if you can please bring with you, anything you need to do your own hair and make up, that will be brilliant.

There is time at the start of the day for this, and in-between each photoshoot there will also be time to top up or change your hair & makeup look if needed.

SETUP FOR THE DAY :

When you first arrive, you will have time to get ready, finish of your makeup etc..

During this time the photographers will think about studio shoot ideas, set up lighting and have a look at the good locations that are available close to studio as well.

Then I will allocate different models to different photographers through the day.

When I introduce you to each photographer that you are working with, there will be an opportunity to show them about the different outfits options you have brought, and discuss creative ideas for your shoot etc.

Each shoot with a photographer then lasts for up to 45 minutes, and once you are finished, if you just come back and see me, and I will decide who you will be working with next. We will continue like this for the day, and you will get the chance to work with 4 - 5 photographers.

When you are working with each photographer, the shoots will be run on a TFP basis, so I just ask that everyone exchanges contact details with each other on the day, so everyone is aware of how the images will be transferred, how long they will take, and the number of images that will be sent out etc..

I am always on hand throughout the day as well, I will fully explain everything as we go along, and you can easily just ask me any questions if needed too.

IMPORTANT :

The shoot is set up like any other TFP photoshoot, so the images you recieve can be used as and were you please, to promote yourself, so long as:

1. No direct money is made from the pictures.

2. The images are not altered/changed from how the photographer sent them to you (unless permission is given).

3. The apropraite credits are attached to the images at all times.
